Buildbase Honda riders Graeme Irwin and Martin Barr went 1-2 at the opening round of the 2017 Michelin MX Nationals with impressive performances at Preston Docks on Sunday.
The Irish pair traded wins on their 2017 CRF450Rs in the two 30-minute plus two lap motos with Martin drawing first blood to win the opener as defending MX1 champion Graeme survived a fall to come home fourth.
Graeme Irwin put his Buildbase Honda on the second step of the MX1 podium with two gutsy rides at the opening round of the 2017 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean at Culham Moto Park on Sunday.
His team-mate Martin Barr had a much tougher time in MX2 with crashes in his opening moto proving costly but he fought back in race two to underline his status as a genuine title threat.
The 2017 Arenacross Tour came to a thrilling conclusion at the SSE Arena, Wembley, on Saturday night where Buildbase Honda’s Chris Bayliss put his CRF250R on the top step of the Pro Lites podium.
In the Pro AX class it was a much tougher night for the team with Matt Bayliss crashing out of the heat races and former champ Adam Chatfield only making the Main Event as promoter’s choice following a bruising second heat.
